About

The Norton flattening stone is a precisely flat, hard and durable flattening stone for whetstones. It’s made out of silicon carbide for quick removal of material. Diagonal grooves is cut in the face of the stone to efficiently drain any sort of material and waste. It measures ¾ x 9 x 3 and therefor is suitable to flatten stones with smaller dimentions.

Waterstones have a finer grit and softer bond than the oil based stones. Thats why you have to reflatten them quite often to get a good result when sharpening your tools. And everyone that’s sharpening theis own tools know how important a flat surface is for the end result.
